The position will involve collection and analysis of genetic data and the modification of current SCAA models to account for observed stock mixing rates. The student will be supervised by MCGL Director Dr. Jared Homola and work alongside project collaborators from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources, Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources, Michigan State University, The Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Bachelors Degree in Fisheries, Biology, Ecology or related field. Experience in generating and/or analyzing genetic data and ecological modeling is preferred, but not strictly required.
To apply, please email cover letter, CV/resume, unofficial transcripts, and contact information for three references to Jared Homola (firstname.lastname@example.org). Additional questions regarding the project should be sent via email (email@example.com).
