- RESEARCH TECHNICIAN (I -B/H) needed to assist with Ecolab activities at the Ohio State Mansfield campus. Specifically, Ecolab activities may include but are not limited to: monitoring daily sap runs for individual tree data sampling, monitoring and maintaining research equipment within research woods, data management, collecting data from crop tree management research plots, invasive plant species control, and more. The successful applicant will be supervised by project PI, Gabriel Karns. Position to last January - April 2023. - Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license is required. Onsite training for various research protocols will be provided, and a desire to participate in research is important. Individuals will be required to work in all types of conditions (rain, snow, cold temperatures) and be required to walk moderate distances within the field site. Evening and flexible hours may be required during the most active maple data collection periods. Must be willing to work on a limited number of weekends as dictated by weather/sap flow conditions for the maple research. Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, self-motivation, and good communication skills. A BS and/or 2-year degree in natural resources or environmental sciences is required.
