This position serves as the Chief of the Forest Resources Division. As such, the position oversees the planning, development, implementation, and management of statewide programs for the Forest Resources Division to manage the State's forest resources and to help implement the Department's mission. The position is responsible for the overall performance, effectiveness, supervision, and administration of the Division and will serve as the Michigan State Forester.
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major. While the Civil Service requirement for the State Bureau Administrator 18 is a bachelor's degree in any major, this position will serve as the State Forester. In accordance with PA 451 of 1994 Part 505 the State Forester is required to possess a 4 year degree in Forestry. Only applicants with a 4 year degree in Forestry and two years of professional experience will be considered for this position.
