- Description
- Assist the Department’s Migratory Game Bird Program with field activities, data entry and analysis, report preparation, and other office/administrative duties. Specific responsibilities include capture and banding of mourning doves and Canada geese, data entry, documentation and reporting, equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver license. A good work ethic with high accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work with minimum supervision is required. Must be proficient with data entry (MS Excel) and word-processing (MS Word). Experience with database management, ArcGIS, and use of hand and power tools is desirable. Must be physically able to independently lift large heavy objects (40-50 pounds) such as a kayak and or bags of grains in and out of a pickup truck. Preference will be given to those pursuing, or already attained a natural resource-based degree. Working hours are flexible with the majority of field activities in the early mornings and evenings. Official workstation will be the Kansas Wetland Education Center with limited in-state travel. Bunk style housing available.
