Description
Assist the Department’s Migratory Game Bird Program with field activities, data entry and analysis, report preparation, and other office/administrative duties. Specific responsibilities include capture and banding of mourning doves and Canada geese, data entry, documentation and reporting, equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver license. A good work ethic with high accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work with minimum supervision is required. Must be proficient with data entry (MS Excel) and word-processing (MS Word). Experience with database management, ArcGIS, and use of hand and power tools is desirable. Must be physically able to independently lift large heavy objects (40-50 pounds) such as a kayak and or bags of grains in and out of a pickup truck. Preference will be given to those pursuing, or already attained a natural resource-based degree. Working hours are flexible with the majority of field activities in the early mornings and evenings. Official workstation will be the Kansas Wetland Education Center with limited in-state travel. Bunk style housing available.
