- I am recruiting new M.S. students to join my group at the School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences (SEEMS) MS program (M.S. in Ocean, Coastal, and Earth Sciences) at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) with a potential start date ranging from May-August 2023. Prospective Students will have the opportunity to do coastal fieldwork to collect the water/soil/air samples and have a chance to get skills in analyzing nutrient/menthane/radiochemical components and computational biogeochemical modeling techniques. Current research areas include river/coastal wetland/ and collecting samples, analyzing data, and developing computational ecosystem models. A total salary is $15,000 per year and tuition is supported, separately. - Qualifications
- Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, geology, biology, ecology, or a related field and be field capable. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and minimum GRE scores of 153 verbal and 144 quantitative are preferred. A valid U.S. driver's license and a good driving record are also preferred. The successful applicant will be expected to enroll full-time in the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences (SEEMS) MS program (M.S. in Ocean, Coastal, and Earth Sciences) Interested applicants should send to Dr. Jongsun Kim (jongsun.kim@utrgv.edu) a copy of their CV or resume, GPA and GRE scores, transcripts, a written statement of graduate research interests, and contact information for two references.
