- Description
- Natural Resource Management Technician: A property management position with an emphasis on wildlife habitat. This position exists to assist full time Wildlife Property Technicians, District Wildlife Managers, and other area staff with wildlife related habitat projects, property and equipment maintenance etc. on multiple State Wildlife Areas and State Trust Lands. The successful applicant(s) must be willing to travel and work in inclement weather, and work some night/weekend/holiday shifts. Must be willing to lift 80 lbs repeatedly during the course of a workday. Position duties include: Utilizing state owned vehicles and equipment (Trucks, ATV’s, Tractors, Heavy Equipment). Management of noxious weeds. Welding, fabrication, equipment maintenance, building and facilities maintenance. General property maintenance including fence building/repair. Other duties, as assigned. Preference may be given to applicants pursuing a degree in Natural Resources, Wildlife Management or similar and/or have experience in agriculture, operation of farm machinery/equipment, or property/weed management experience.

- Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights REQUIREMENTS: Must be 16 years of age or older Must have a current & valid driver’s license required for operating a state vehicle The work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense. Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check. Must be able to work 40 hours per week. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be available to work varied shifts Preference may be given to applicants with or working towards a Natural Resources degree or similar education. Ability to work with limited supervision and work well within a team.
