The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is excited to announce an opening for a limited duration Natural Resource Specialist 1 (Fisheries Research Assistant), located in Newport, Oregon. Make a difference with fisheries resources in Oregon! This position functions as part of a field-based team designed to conduct fishery-related research in Oregon's nearshore ocean. The goals for this field team are to design and implement field-based fishery-independent surveys of nearshore finfish species, as well as collect fish life history and ecological data for the primary purpose of providing information for federal/state stock assessment processes. Bachelor's degree in Fisheries or Wildlife Science or a closely-related degree; OR three years of biological experience performing studies, research, or resource management activities in a fish or wildlife program.
