Responsibilities: Provides highly complex/technical statistical services for fisheries management, fisheries surveys, and other data collection and analysis activities. Advises/assists biologists and managers to ensure that management products use proper statistical experimental design and data analysis, that investigations are conducted in an efficient and effective manner with respect to design/analysis and that creel and other fish management surveys are conducted using proper statistical techniques.
Qualifications: Five years of biological experience performing studies, research, or resource management activities in a fish or wildlife program or statistical analysis experience. At least three years of the experience must be at a technical or professional level; AND a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries/Wildlife Science or Statistics/Biometrics/Mathematics or a closely-related degree.
The goal of this recruitment is to fill the position at the Natural Resource Specialist 4 level. However, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for the Natural Resource Specialist 3 ($4,144-$6,050/mo.) to apply, as the department may consider under-filling the position.
