Overview The Natural Resource Technical Field Scientist position will assist in managing projects, conducting environmental research and collection for environmental constraints of proposed projects. This position does require some fieldwork as appropriate. Responsibilities Assist with and perform field inspections including wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat surveys, as well as assist with Phase I ESAs site visits and stormwater compliance inspections Assist with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents preparation Evaluate data and prepare reports for varied projects Produce map products and analysis to support GIS exhibits for reports Assist in managing projects for natural resources efforts within the local Environmental Department Provide support for regional and natural resources endeavors Prepare deliverables Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science or Environmental related discipline from an accredited college or university 4 years' working experience in Natural Resources, preferred. GIS experience Working experience in the greater Houston Area and/or East Texas preferred Must have experience with the following: Wetland and Waterbody Determinations and Delineations pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act (RHA) U.S. Army Corps of Engineers General and Standard Permits Wetland and Stream Functional Assessments and Mitigation Plan Development and Design Threatened and Endangered Species Habitat Assessments National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Assessments and Documentation (Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements) Biological Assessments Natural Resource Federal and State Agencies Consultation Requirements Statutes including CWA, RHA, NEPA, NHPA, ESA, MBTA, amongst others Some travel may be required Must be able to work between the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday - Friday, occasional overtime as needed to meet project deadlines (this is a full-time opportunity; willing to consider part-time within the hours stated).
