Statewide Deer Project Leader: Under general direction of the Program Administrator, provides professional and comprehensive whitetail deer management and planning services on a statewide basis; reviews, evaluates and analyzes natural resource, environmental and recreational impacts of projects and proposals of a federal, state, local and private sector nature as they relate to the white-tailed deer resource; formulates Departmental position; monitors, review and prepares technical white-tailed deer resource plans, reports or studies; submits evaluations and recommendations on land acquisition and development and implementation of natural resource and outdoor recreation management programs; assists in the preparation of the operations budget for the program; has discretionary spending authorities; assists in liaison activities with state, federal and local agencies and the general public.

Requires thorough knowledge of Division objectives, policies, programs and services. Requires extensive knowledge of budgetary planning.
