Pathways NTE (Student Trainee) GS-0499-03/04/05 Planned conversion: full performance level GS-09 Natural Resources Management and Biological Science Student Trainee We're hiring interns and recent graduates for Natural Resources and Range Management positions. Apply on USAJobs.gov from February 15 through 27, 2023. Jobs are available across the country. Biology and natural resources student trainee positions will offer on the job training in the natural resources and biological sciences program that could lead to a permanent professional or technical position. Programs covered in this position include but are not limited to forestry, wildlife biology, range management, botany, recreation, and fish biology. Interns may gain experience in one or multiple programs depending on the needs of their assigned Forest Service unit.
Qualifications
We are looking for an individual with: • The ability to work independently and in a team • Passion to learn wildlife species management and familiarity with NEPA • Passion to learn the basics of range management • Passion to learn the basics in invasive species and rare plant management • Passion to learn the basics of aquatics species management • Strong organizational skills • The ability to manage multiple and often shifting priorities. • Passion to gain experience building and maintaining partnerships Interns must be enrolled in and have at least 1 year (24 credits) of undergraduate college-level courses.
