The Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire a Natural Resources Educator LTE position stationed at the MacKenzie Center.
The MacKenzie Center, just 25 miles north of Madison, is one of the most diverse education centers in Wisconsin. Located on a 285-acre property near Poynette in Columbia County, the MacKenzie Center has interpretive trails, exhibits, museums and programming available for school and youth groups.

This position serves as a Natural Resources Educator for the MacKenzie Center, conducting environmental education and outdoor skills programming to youth and adults year-round. The assigned duties include providing on-site educational programs and activities to organized school, social, and other groups; as well as, the general public visiting the property. The position is responsible for developing, directing, and implementing programs for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. The Natural Resources Educator will also assist with outreach, promotion, and public relations for the Center and function as the point of contact for groups or organizations planning special events or non-traditional outdoor education activities at the center.
Hours vary, up to 40 hours per week, and will include weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge and experience in environmental education and outdoor skills
- Experience communicating and presenting information to a variety of audiences
- Experience in working with and educating youth
Note: Outdoor education programming is conducted in all-weather conditions.
