This position requires the ability to work independently. The main job duties include conducting deer and goose damage inspections for Tuscola, Huron and Sanilac counties as needed. Tasks include meeting with farmers and inspecting damage, mailing deer damage permits and kill tags, and keeping detailed records. Assist with Deer Management Assistance Permit applications along with taking deer heads and other specimens to the DNR disease lab at MSU as needed. This position will also assist with game area maintenance, building maintenance, goose, and duck banding as needed.
The Wildlife Division hires more than 55 seasonal employees during the spring/summer season to work at the various locations throughout the state, including State Field Offices, DNR Customer Service Centers, and the State Game Areas.
