FIELD TECNICIAN NEEDED.
We are seeking to quickly fill a position with our 4-person tree phenology team for 6-weeks of full-time work in the Northwoods of Wisconsin (September 15-October 30). Work will be kept to 40 hrs a week during M-F, with weekends off. All lodging will be provided at beautiful Kemp Natural Resources Station 7days/wk and transportation will be available for all field related needs.
Work will consist of sampling foliage in northern Wisconsin’s forests tucked among the many lakes in the region. We need hardworking field technicians that are capable of conducting detailed sampling for long hours in forests under variable environmental conditions. Fall in northern Wisconsin is an excellent time to work outside in the changing season, although it does bring with weather that can range from quite warm to quite cold. Successful applicants will have shown the ability to handle rugged terrain under cold/wet/soggy and hot/muggy/buggy conditions with a positive attitude, all while maintaining consistent integrity of scientific data collection/note-taking efforts.
Applicants with prior experience in the field sampling tree canopies and characterizing forest plots will be prioritized, although interested candidates with extensive field experience can be trained and are encouraged to apply.

•WFA or higher wilderness first aid certification
