- Though this position emphasizes a focus in sea turtle husbandry and rehabilitation, the selected candidate should expect to gain exposure and experience in all aspects of the Virginia Aquarium Stranding Response Program, including response to live and dead stranded marine mammals and sea turtles, rehabilitation of sea turtles, and necropsy of sea turtles and marine mammals, among other tasks and duties. - Qualifications
- Preferences: Work or volunteer experience at an informal education site (aquarium, museum, zoo, etc.); customer service experience; ability to communicate effectively; ability to handle tasks independently and with attention to detail. Requirements: Upon hire, you must complete the City of Virginia Beach’s Defensive Driving Course and have a valid driver’s license, and you must complete all onboarding requirements as needed by Abacus (including a background check and drug test).
