Home Range Wildlife Research (HRWR) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the state of Washington conducting independent and collaborative wildlife research, offering practical field training opportunities for budding biologists, and working closely with the local community to foster a deep connection between people and their landscape. We are seeking an Operations Director (OD) to bring non-profit expertise to our growing organization. The OD is responsible for leading HRWR’s fundraising, finance, and organizational development strategies in close collaboration with the organization’s co-founders and board of directors. The OD will bring enthusiasm and passion to the continued growth of this young organization and the landscape, people, and wildlife that we serve. This job requires the ability to work in a supportive, matrixed team setting that fosters energy and excitement for effective wildlife conservation. Duties and Responsibilities include: Fundraising -Develop HRWR’s fundraising strategy -Manage donor relationships -Identify and apply for grants Finances -Manage HRWR’s finances -Create and share financial reports -Coordinate with HRWR’s accountant/bookkeeper -Administer grants Organizational Operations and Development -Manage board communication -Cultivate collaborations and partnerships -Foster organizational equity, inclusion, and diversity To apply submit a cover letter, CV, and 3 professional reference contacts as a single PDF to: Becca Windell Development Director becca@homerange.org Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Qualifications
-Organizational development and financial management experience -Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills including public speaking and the ability to communicate complex information -Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to creatively problem solve -Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, as well as collaborate in a matrixed team environment -Commitment to fostering and building inclusivity and equity across all HRWR programming and within our internal culture -Demonstrated experience in fundraising, budgeting, and donor management -Commitment to and belief in the growth and development of a young, budding organization -Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Quickbooks -Appreciation and connection with the Methow Valley community -Interest and passion for wildlife conservation
