Description
Description of Job Duties Interview anglers on the lower Escambia River by asking specific questions about their catch and harvest of freshwater and saltwater fish species. This position is responsible for accurately recording detailed survey data. Surveys will be conducted in all-weather types. The incumbent will be responsible for operating FWC equipment for FWC business only and in a safe and law-abiding manner. Schedule Shifts are scheduled via random selection, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Shifts will be conducted ten days a month starting March 1, 2023, and ending June 28, 2023. Each shift will be 4.5 hours with the earliest shift being from 07:00-11:30 and the latest shift from 15:00-19:30. Entire schedule will be known at the beginning of employment. WHAT IS OPS EMPLOYMENT? Other Personal Services (OPS) temporary employer/employee relationship used solely for accomplishing short term or intermittent tasks. OPS employees do not fill established positions and may not be assigned the duties of any vacant authorized position. OPS employees are at-will employees and are subject to actions such as pay changes, changes to work assignment and terminations at the pleasure of the agency head or designee. Knowledge, Skill(s), and Abilities • Must have knowledge of common freshwater fishes. • Ability to effectively communicate with the public. • Ability to safely operate vehicles. • Ability to work in inclement weather. • Attention to detail. Minimum Requirements Must be 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
