Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of wildlife management programs on the Big Cypress Wildlife Management Area. Conducts population surveys of game, non-game, threatened and endangered wildlife species. Maintains facilities and equipment in a safe and usable condition. Conducts various habitat management practices including prescribed burning and treatment of invasive plants. Regularly works independently in the field.

A valid driver’s license and ability to operate 4WD vehicles is required. Ability and willingness to perform difficult physical work for extended and irregular periods, under adverse conditions, and in various extremes of weather. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and the ability to communicate with colleagues. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to safely, effectively, and proficiently use and maintain a variety of tools, vehicles, and equipment. Ability to plan and organize work assignments effectively and efficiently.
