Assists biologists with wildlife habitat restoration activities using prescribed fire and mechanical/chemical treatments. Operates tractor with implements and other heavy equipment, and transports equipment. Incumbent is required to assist with hunt management on multiple WMA’s; perform wildlife surveys; maintains roads, equipment, and infrastructure, and collect biological data from harvested game animals at check stations.

Ability to use a crawler tractor, pumper truck, and operate and maintain farm tractor and implements, transport farm tractor and equipment, ATVs and boats. Operates welders, hand and power tools, and outboard motors; ability to repair and maintain equipment and infrastructure; ability to work independently and in a variety of weather conditions; ability to plan and organize work assignments; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Incumbent must obtain a valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License (Class A w/ airbrake endorsement) within the first 180 days of employment and keep it current during the full term of their employment. Incumbent will be subjected to random drug and alcohol screening and must pass these to maintain employment.
