The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking applicants for an OPS Technician position out of the Triple N Ranch Field Office, located near Holopaw. Duties partly include operating the check station at Fort Drum WMA during deer, hog and turkey hunting seasons for long shifts that include holidays and weekends. The other duties of the position are facilities/equipment maintenance and habitat management activities at Triple N Ranch WMA and Herky Huffman/ Bull Creek WMA. These activities include preventative maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment, custodial duties, mowing and trimming vegetation, heavy equipment operation, spraying invasive plants with herbicide, prescribed burning, and assisting with wildlife surveys. This position is limited to working no more than 1,920 hours per year and is expected to work 40 hours per week. Pay is an hourly rate starting at $16.07/hour.
