Job summary and responsibilities: The Field Technician’s primary role is to identify and remove noxious weeds using manual removal and backpack sprayers with organic herbicide. Additional duties will include daily record keeping, clean-up and maintenance/repair of equipment. The Technician will earn $17/hr with a $1 raise every month. Overtime is encouraged during the busy spring season. No experience is needed; we will train the right applicant. This job demands that you are physically active and is a great opportunity to work outside for the summer. You will learn to identify noxious weeds in the Great Yellowstone Ecosystem, and be part of the effort to preserve these habitats using alternatives to traditional herbicides. Core Crew: The workload for this position is a minimum of 35 hr/wk, from approx. May 1st – mid September, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, with minimum guaranteed pay every month (starting at $2,380 the first month). 3 positions available. Required Qualifications: • Flexible, good attitude, and ready to learn • Ability to work independently and in a team • Ability to interpret maps and navigate to properties • A valid driver’s license w/ clean driving record • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical exam for driving purposes • Minimum age 21 Desired Qualifications: • Basic maintenance and repair skills • Plant and weed identification • Ability to obtain an Idaho Pesticide Applicator License • ATV, truck, and trailer operation experience Please see our website for job description and application.
