Toxics Action Center is looking for interns for the upcoming Spring semester. We're looking for applicants that are hard-working, good communicators and committed to making positive social change. Toxics Action Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to working side-by-side with communities, empowering them with the skills and resources they need to win fights against threats of pollution in their areas. Over the last thirty years, Toxics Action Center has helped shut down coal plants, stop the construction of pipelines, clean up polluted water and air, make transitions to renewable energy, and much more. Organizational Interns will gain experience in the field of community organizing by helping with campaign research. They will also help manage Toxics Action Center’s social media pages, collect and reformat media hits, learn to write letters to the editor, communicate with reporters, and more. One of the most significant portions of this internship will focus on helping to prepare for our annual Local Environmental Action Conference, which brings together hundreds of activists and organizers from across the Northeast to network and strategize as we move forward with the environmental movement.
