Description
The Outreach & Member Support Coordinator (MSC) is an office-based position and works closely with all staff members and volunteers (AmeriCorps and Non-AmeriCorps members) within the ACE Division (Crew program). The MSC will be responsible for meeting the recruitment needs of ACE Division, as well as the division's member management needs. The MSC will frequently interact with ACE's members, other divisions as well as the general public and as such is expected to maintain a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and willingness to act as an ambassador of ACE's program at all times. The Member Manager will need to be flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic while working in a fast-paced office environment with regular visits to field operation locations. The Outreach MSC will work closely with the ACE Division's Associate Director of Member Programs & member support team. The MSC will also be collaborating remotely with other ACE offices across the U.S. to ensure consistent communication and policy compliance across divisions. The Member Support Coordinator's two primary responsibility areas include: 1) Member outreach and recruitment 2) Member onboarding, support, and management
Qualifications
1-2 years of previous experience prior to ACE with volunteer, outreach or AmeriCorps member management and support, preferably in a Conservation Corps. Must have a strong comfort level speaking on the phone Attention to detail Basic comfort level with public speaking Familiarity with basic office practices, file management, records maintenance Must maintain a positive, constructive, and flexible work environment conducive to team dynamics Willingness to travel locally, work occasional weekends/evenings, and attend community events, as needed Strong skills in leadership, interpersonal communication, organization, management, problem solving, conflict resolution and motivating others Takes initiative and has strong planning, organizational, and time management skills; ability to prioritize and plan work activities to maintain effective support of a complex array of projects; uses time efficiently and develops action whens when given a demanding workflow Computer skills required including intermediate knowledge of Excel and Google Suites, and professional email etiquette; basic data management skills. Ability to function as an efficient, effective and adaptable team member displaying professional-level proficiencies in both technical and interpersonal skills. Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback. Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to understand and follow ACE systems and processes. Proven ability to work independently and be a positive, contributing member of a group. Leadership ability, forward-thinking, positivity, and flexibility are important assets in this position, as the ACE Member Program Management department continues to evolve. Previous experience working in a team setting supporting/developing young adults as well as experience in nonprofit, conservation, and/or natural resource management fields preferred Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate. BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
