Conduct research on recruitment sources and early life history of Paddlefish using dentary microchemistry to inform conservation and management of this species. The student will also be expected to contribute to fish sampling in the Illinois portion of the Ohio River as part of a long-term monitoring study.
MS in fisheries, biology, ecology, or a related field and interests in fish ecology and large river ecosystems. Strong written and oral communication and analytical skills. Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a research team. Experience with fish sampling in large rivers and otolith microchemistry desirable but not required.
