- Description
- Two years of support for a postdoctoral researcher in the Fisheries and Movement Ecology Lab at LSU. Position will help manage and implement offshore research projects focused on (but not limited to) assessments of distribution, abundance, and movement ecology of reef fishes in the Gulf of Mexico. Researcher will also assist PI with data analysis (such as: video surveys, telemetry data, ecological modeling, etc.) and writing (publications, reports, grants). - Qualifications
- Preferred- PhD in Wildlife and Fisheries, Marine Biology, Marine Science, or related field. Strong publication record commensurate with experience Good command of statistical tools and methods used in fisheries science Offshore experience Comfortable leading research team on offshore cruises Experience/comfortable capturing and implanting electronic tags in marine fish Widely trained in aspects of movement ecology as it pertains to fisheries science (electronic tagging, ecological modeling, tissue stable isotopes, otolith chemistry)
