- Seeking a motivated biologist/ecologist with skills in GIS to lead a risk assessment project identifying hydrologic connections in the Dakotas that could allow invasive species to spread. The individual will be expected to work closely with diverse partners including state and federal agency biologists, USGS water science center staff, graduate students, and university staff and faculty. The successful candidate is expected to present findings at local and professional meetings and publish research findings. Some field work is required to assist state agency biologists with invasive species research. This is a temporary position with potential for extension. Current expected funding is 2.5 yrs. Start date: January 2023.
- Qualifications
- M.S. degree (awarded on or before start date) in ecology, biology, geography, fisheries or closely related field; strong written and oral communication skills in research; demonstrated ability working as a team leader; demonstrated skills in GIS. Position can be hired as either Research Associate or Postdoc. PhD (awarded on or before start date) required if seeking position as postdoc.
