The Spiesman Lab is seeking a postdoc to join our pollinator and machine learning research group at K-State. The postdoc will participate in a collaborative project aimed at developing computer vision tools for automated bee species identification and sampling. Our goals are to incorporate these tools into large scale international pollinator monitoring efforts that include citizen science. Two years of funding is available upon satisfactory performance in year 1. Salary is $55,000 annually. Remote work may be considered. Competitive applicants may have expertise in one or more of the following: Python, JavaScript, and/or React programming languages; HTML and CSS; TensorFlow; bee taxonomy. Communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team are also desirable. Applicants will need to have completed their PhD prior to starting the position.
