Description
Headwaters Science Institute is looking for a program manager and teacher during the months of September and October 2019. Headwaters Science Institute is a 501(c)3 nonprofit formed with the mission of fostering curiosity through science. We engage students’ natural curiosity, guiding them to design and perform experiments that answer their own questions through the scientific method. We work with students and teachers grades 6-12. This job requires good organizational, teaching, and verbal communication skills. The program manager will be required to work with both the students and the classroom teachers as well as help the program director with program equipment organization and preparing program materials. The ideal candidate is someone with a background in scientific research and the ability to use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint as well as Google Sheets and Slides for research analysis and presentations. Knowledge of basic statistics is needed as well. The program manager will work variable hours and sometimes more than 40 hours a week depending on the program schedule. The fall schedule will be shared during the interview process. There is potential to grow this into a year-round position with Headwaters especially if excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills are displayed during the two month period. Compensation commensurate with experience. All interested parties should submit a resume or CV and cover letter to our executive director Megan Seifert, Ph.D. meg@headwatersscienceinstitute.org
