Manages and implements policies and programs within Sublette County Weed & Pest under the supervision of the Weed and Pest District Supervisor. Manage and implement the GIS / GPS program and work order database. Performs a wide range of leadership, coordination, and hands-on duties. Assists the Supervisor in assuring the District’s programs on the local and state level are carried out. This includes but is not limited to seasonal personnel supervision, training and evaluations, community relations, planning, and implementation. May represent the District in an official capacity at the national, state, and local level.
• Mapping/GIS Database: Oversees the District GIS/GPS program, managing the invasive species data, database and creating maps for projects and reports.
• Work Orders: Oversees all work orders. Reviews and processes daily work orders. Includes verifying that the work orders are submitted correctly and that all amounts are totaled accurately and filed in proper budget categories. In cooperation with supervisors, train seasonal staff in proper work order use and submissions.
• Equipment and Sprayer Management: Oversees and maintains inventory of shop/spray equipment, coordinates purchase and repairs, oversees maintenance/repairs.
• Public Relation/Education: Assists with education and public relations programs within the District and all cooperating agencies, schools, industry, etc.
• EDRR: Helps supervisors direct the EDRR program with the District and cooperating agencies, maintaining official records and maps of County EDRR species.
• Represents the District: Will represent the District within the Wyoming Weed and Pest Council, the Wyoming Weed Management Association, and other local, State, or Federal organizations, directing sub-committees and programs as required.
• Assumes duties of the Supervisor in absence of Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor.
• In coordination with other Supervisors, assists with seasonal employees, working with co-workers to ensure resources are appropriately utilized.
• Offers recommendations in establishing noxious weed & pest control strategies; schedules; developing guidelines, procedures, and policies to ensure effective delivery of services.
• Assists with implementation of District programs related to declared/designated species as determined by the Supervisor.
• In cooperation with other supervisors, participates in the Districts hay and gravel pit certification program.
• Shares responsibility of landowner communication, treatments, record keeping, quality control and other duties as needed with other full-time staff.
• Assists with lawn and tree care consultations.
• Shares responsibility of safety training with other employees.
• Conducts special projects and assignments as required.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Range Management, or a related field
a) Equivalent combination of education and experience may be used to meet the minimum
b) Commercial Pesticide Applicators License
c) State of Wyoming Weed and Pest Control District Supervisor’s Certification as per WY Statutes.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (including physical and environmental)
Approximately 40-45% of the position’s duties are performed within an indoor or a protected environment. The incumbent may be exposed to adverse conditions while driving from the primary business location to field locations as well as during any service related activities. Substantial seasonal exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals and other conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, and mists will be encountered. Moderate seasonal exposure to extreme heat or without temperature changes will also be encountered.
• Conduct activities involving walking 60% of the time, standing 30% of the time, and sitting 10% of the time.
• Lift burdens weighing up to 80 lbs. on a limited to moderate basis.
• Carry backpack equipment weighing between 24 and 40 lbs.
• Grasp and manipulate office equipment as well as tools, equipment, and materials used in the maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Conduct activities involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching, crawling, twisting, and reaching are used daily on a moderate to substantial basis.
• Participate in routine conversation in person or via telephone and to distinguish telephone voice and other auditory tones.
• Distinguish objects in low and bright light using visual capacity including peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and far and near acuity in order to observe all elements of a structure or zone and document the results.
• Use a computer daily for prolonged periods of time.
• Operate a motor vehicle and light to mid-level equipment.
Salary Dependent upon experience ($40,000 - $58,000) based on experience
