Description
Position: Project Manager/Wildlife Biologist GMEC is seeking an experienced wildlife biologist for their Buffalo, WY office. The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in wildlife biology, environmental federal and state policy, natural resource survey protocols, and management of protected T&E and sensitive species as pertains to the western region. Grouse Mountain Environmental Consultants (GMEC) is an independently owned and multi-disciplinary natural resource consulting firm whose comprehensive blend of disciplines and years of experience allow us to provide solutions to unique and contemporary issues. GMEC began operations in 2006 located in Buffalo, Wyoming at the base of the Bighorn Mountains. We started out by providing federal oil and gas permitting and environmental consulting services to the Powder River Basin region of Wyoming and Montana. Since that time, we have grown to a diverse group of permitting specialists, wildlife biologists, NEPA specialists, ecologists, range management specialists, and GIS analysts that manage a wide variety of projects through the Rocky Mountain West and Great Plains Regions. Our services include federal and state oil and gas as well as renewable energy permitting; wildlife and T&E species surveys and support; third-party NEPA preparation; rangeland health assessments and monitoring; Storm-Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) creation and inspections; reclamation planning and implementation, wetland delineations; and Proper Functioning Condition (PFC) assessments of streams. Our team has extensive experience working with private landowners, federal and state entities, and private industry on a variety of natural resource related projects. Several of our employees’ have backgrounds in farming and ranching as well as previous employment with a variety of government agencies including USDA-NRCS, USDA-USFS, WY-DEQ and USDI-BLM which allow GMEC to approach projects with a perspective that facilitates cooperation between the involved parties and aids in the development of plans that are mutually acceptable to all involved.
