- Public Health Laboratory Team Lead Job Posting Closes on the MSPB Careers Website on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11:59 PM CST Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 9605-0450-20230313Hr Agency Minimum Salary: $51,693.41 Agency Maximum Salary: $67,847.61 About the Position The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the public health safety of shellfish for consumption. The incumbent will be responsible for providing scientific expertise in microbiology principles and quality assurance management of a laboratory. The incumbent will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure laboratory compliance with FDA rules and regulations outlined in the National Shellfish Sanitation Program (NSSP) Guide for the Control of Molluscan Shellfish. Additionally, the incumbent will implement research related to microbiology techniques and sample analysis methods; operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical laboratory equipment; manage, analyze, summarize, and disseminate large amounts of data. Work objectives are coordinated with the Bureau Director; however, program implementation and management are primarily the responsibility of the Team Lead. Work will be reviewed through meetings, conferences, comparison studies and an annual, nation-wide proficiency test of laboratory methods and techniques.
- Qualifications
- What you'll need to be Successful: Knowledge of microbiology techniques and methods and quality assurance of laboratory principles; develops knowledge of the laws, rules, and ordinances as they relate to the Seafood Technology Bureau. Preferred Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree and 5-6 years of experience.
