Assist with the preparations and implementation of the hunting season, wildlife management aspects of the ranch, completion of summer projects, and general ranch and facilities maintenance of the Elizita Ranch. In addition, this employee will supervise additional staff as needed for the operation of the ranch. Responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:
Directly guiding guests on quail & dove hunts – Overseeing dog handler and driving quail truck
Collection of hunting and harvest data
Maintaining vehicles and facilities to presentable & professional appearances
Operating equipment used for pasture manipulation, i.e. disking, brush work, shredding, etc…
IPT treatment for invasive species
Implementation & execution of prescribed fires
Monitoring & data collection of management practices
Monitoring wildlife populations – helicopter & roadside surveys
Maintain records for harvest, survey, pasture conditions, etc..
Summer project implementation, brush work, water improvement, ideas to enhance wildlife, etc..
Assist with monitoring, upkeep, & water management of ranch cattle operation
Ranch & Facilities Management
Oversee maintenance and upkeep of ranch facilities
Maintain records and planning for scheduled maintenance for equipment at facilities
Create inventories and monitor usage of items used at facilities
Coordinating/directing contractors and other outside services
Supervise execution of daily operations
Must have a general knowledge in the areas described above and have the ability and willingness to learn. Must be self-motivated, trustworthy, dependable, and also have the ability to rapidly adapt to any situation. Must be able to present themselves in a professional manner. Must be able to work alone, at times, to complete tasks without direct supervision and in a timely and complete fashion. Must have a valid DL and be able to pass a background check.
