Private Family Ranch in search of an experienced Ranch Hand who possesses initiative, is self-determined and comfortable working in a very independent role. Wildlife experience is REQUIRED.
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist with maintenance and management of water development on the ranch
Predator control of feral hogs
Clean up and beautification of ranch
Application of herbicides to manage habitat, fencerows, and water traps
Maintenance and upkeep of ranch equipment, vehicles, and facilities
Heavy equipment operation and maintenance (tractors, skid steers, backhoe’s)
Fence construction, repair, and maintenance
Daily removal of debris on dirt roads
Filling and maintaining corn and protein feeders
Assist with planting and maintenance of wildlife food plots
Assist in wildlife management practices
Provide excellent customer service to family and guests
Assist with any and other ranch activities as assigned by ranch manager to aid in the development and startup process of ranching and wildlife operations
Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Personal skills – ability to communicate well with others, give instruction, take instruction, affectively and rationally deal with conflicts /deadlines
Dependability, punctuality, good character and good health
Knowledge of all animals living on property (horses, cattle and other animals brought in)
Works on every project with an eye for detail
Degree in Wildlife Biology/Management Preferred
NO HOUSING AVAILABLE FOR THIS ROLE.
Full-time role offering full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO), etc. Flexible to work 5-6 days per week.
Living in close proximity to the Ranch is preferred.
Degree in Wildlife Management a plus
