We are looking for college students or recent graduates in the wildlife/natural resources field to serve as spring interns at the Flying A Ranch in Bandera, Texas. The ranch is 9,300 acres and is located in the Texas hill country. We are largely a hunting ranch that implements different wildlife practices to enhance our habitat and quality of wildlife. Part of the ranch is dedicated to exotic ungulate hunting and management, and has species such as axis, fallow, aoudad, sika, blackbuck, kudu, wildebeest, red deer etc. The remainder of the ranch is foucused on native species such as white-tailed deer and turkey. We are looking for eager, hard working, team players, to assist our on staff biologists an become part of our team. Housing is provided on site, as well as work trucks for use on the property. Start dates are somewhat flexible but the spring internship is from mid January to mid May with the possibility of extending into the summer or the fall to assist with hunts. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following: trapping feral pigs Filling feeders shredding fields and roads road maitenance Cattle working Spraying brush on fencelines assisting in helicopter capture of exotics shearing juniper General ranch maintenance
