Are you our next Reclamation Compliance Specialist?
We are currently seeking a Reclamation Compliance Specialist based out of our FishHawk Office in Lithia, Florida. This position will travel to all active and inactive sites to be outdoors and walking in wetlands. The Reclamation Compliance Specialist will provide assistance in adhering to mine and reclamation related permit conditions. Primary duties include review and analysis of wetland monitoring activities in order to meet specific permit success criteria and evaluation of wetland performance for identification and implementation of adaptive management strategies. Additional duties include maintaining the mitigation monitoring compliance files and records for the reclamation department, maintaining the wetland tracking system, herbicide and mitigation monitoring reviews, coordination with agencies during mitigation inspections, and assist with the implementation and maintenance of various initiative rollouts (e.g. EHSMS system, LiveLink and One Source).
What will you do?
Conduct field assessments, design adaptive management plans for mitigation, conduct herbicide reviews, mitigation monitoring quality checks and design of specific planting plans for permit compliance.
Financial tracking and data analysis of all wetland monitoring activities and upkeep of mitigation compliance data and records.
Work with third-party contractors and consultants in the development of qualitative and quantitative monitoring reports required to maintain compliance with permits. Responsible for creation and tracking of mitigation monitoring scopes.
Miscellaneous job related duties, including initiative rollout, reclamation field support, tours, agency visits, etc.
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor's degree required with a major in Biology, Environmental Science, or Ecology required
2+ years of experience in wetland monitoring and permitting at the county, state and federal level and/or comparable regulatory, permitting or related experience required
Candidates with strong background in field ecology and data collection required
Prior project management experience preferred
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills required
Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills required
Demonstrated relationship-building skills required
Ability to create effective partnerships at all levels of the organization required
Strong decision making skills required
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills required
