Duties: Based out of the Clinton Grasslands Field Station in West Central Missouri, these positions will assist Stream Habitat Ecologist with sampling the fish community on the Niangua River upstream and downstream of Tunnel Dam. Duties will include fish sampling using backpack, barge and boat electrofishing as well as seines and other nets and habitat assessment. The selected assistant will be expected to understand all aspects of the sampling protocol for fish and habitat and lead other hourly employees in the field. Workers will use GPS and GIS technology to map sites. Workers will also assist with data entry and will potentially assist with other grassland field station projects.

Hours: 40 hours per week
Qualifications: Knowledge of fish sampling techniques, fish identification skills and boating skills are not required, but encouraged. Attention to detail is critical. Employee must be able to travel statewide including overnight stays lasting multiple nights, but will be reimbursed for travel expenses. Employee must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
