This position is an unpaid graduate assistantship at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary in Anne Arundel County Maryland. Applicant will be helping to research tick abundance and disease prevalence (of the ticks) within the sanctuary. This position may be used for research credit. The research will last until May 2023, but since this is an unpaid position short term assistantship until August 2022 can also be negotiated. All personal protection equipment and supplies will be provided by the researcher and the US Department of Agriculture, which is collaborating on this research with the graduate researcher. Hours: About 16 hours weekly Pay: unpaid Tasking includes: -tick dragging on both trails and through the forest -identification of ticks in the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary lab -management of database To apply: Please send your CV to
An undergraduate student in an environmental related program is preferred, but anybody possessing an environmental science related degree may apply (bio, chem, marine science, geography, etymology, etc.) Research/field work experience is also preferred.
