Our research group at Montana State University-Bozeman is seeking a motivated and creative Research Associate to assist with accomplishing deliverables for a federally-funded research project integrating ecology, evolution, genomics, and management of invasive plants. The project is well-suited to people with backgrounds in either basic or applied biology. Lab members work on focused projects but also have latitude to develop their own projects under the lab framework. Montana State University (MSU) is a public land-grant university, with state-of-the-art research facilities (including priority access to supercomputing) and a friendly faculty and student environment. MSU is located in Bozeman, MT, in the heart of the Gallatin Valley, and sits within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicants will be self-motivated and disciplined, committed to reaching goals, and enthusiastic about academic research and culture. Applicants should have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to work both independently and collaboratively with other lab members and labs. A Bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, ecology, plant sciences, or a similar field is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants with a Master's degree in a related field and/or experience with (or strong desire to learn) experimental design, laboratory benchwork, bioinformatics, and/or data analysis and visualization will be especially competitive.
