Description
Primary responsibilities: provide expertise, support, guidance and research relating to cultural and natural resources management, visitor services, and facilities management for the Colorado Desert District, using geographic information systems (GIS), cartography, digitizing, and reports (tables, maps, charts). Migrate district GIS data into ArcSDE. Use python and other programming languages to automate fork flows. Provide guidance in developing Survey123/Field Maps forms, web maps, and dashboards. Conduct research including spatial data analyses and modeling to evaluate impacts and effectiveness of various resource management alternatives. Provide clear communication and strong customer support. Respond to emergency incidents as required. Maintain proficiency, qualifications, and experience standards. Some field work and occasional work with drones. District Park units include Anza-Borrego Desert State Park®, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, and Palomar Mountain State Park. The reporting location is Borrego Springs, CA. This position will work under the general supervision of the District Senior Park and Recreation Specialist.
