- Description
- The Clark Lab is looking for a new field crew member, to start as soon as possible. This is a full-time, temporary position with no benefits. Duties include the following: * Monitoring long-term forest plots * Perform basic tree identification and measurements. * Identify and count seeds collected from seed rain traps. * Enter data into spreadsheets using Excel. * Travel will be required The Clark Lab is based in the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University, an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer. We study forest community ecology; our current research focuses on forest plant demography and responses to disturbance and climate change. Our research sites are located in the Duke Forest, various locations in NC, and other locations along the east coast. Duke University is located in Durham, North Carolina. - Qualifications
- Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in ecology and a willingness to work outdoors in hot, humid conditions with abundant insects, ticks, and chiggers. Candidates should also have strong tree identification skills and a flexible schedule that allows for travel. Minimum Qualifications Education Work requires an Associate's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other science related scientific field. Experience None required above education/training requirement OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
