Internship Agency: Nemours Wildlife Foundation Location: Beaufort County, South Carolina Category: Seasonal Full-Time (9 months) Start Date: January 2, 2018 Last Date to Apply: December 20, 2017 Nemours Wildlife Foundation is seeking a highly motivated individual to fulfill a wildlife conservation and research internship. This is a 9 month temporary position and the successful applicant may begin their internship after January 1, 2018. Primary duties involve laboratory work with processing, sorting, and identifying aquatic invertebrates from coastal wetland soil and vegetation samples. The successful applicant will also be required to assist with concurrent wildlife research and management activities as necessary. The applicant will be trained in proper laboratory techniques; however, previous experience is desired. Successful candidates must be mature, independent, and detail-oriented. Nemours Wildlife Foundation is a non-profit research and conservation organization located on Nemours Plantation within the ACE Basin, South Carolina. Interns are provided with a daily stipend ($60-65$, depending on experience, paid bi-weekly), housing, and utilities. Work weeks typically consist of 8-hour days, Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license. Internships are available to students currently seeking or have recently completed an undergraduate degree in wildlife biology or similar natural resources major. Qualifications
Previous technician and/or laboratory experience is preferred, but not required.
