We are looking for two technicians to help on a plant litter decomposition project for Jiangxiao Qiu's Landscape Ecology lab in South Florida for about 2 months. Our lab is based in Davie, FL at the University of Florida Fort Lauderdale Research center which is where we will process all of the collected samples. You will also be conducting field work at Buck Island Ranch, a cattle ranch managed by the Archbold Research Station. This field site is located near Lake Placid FL (about 2-2.5 hours NW of Davie).
Primary duties: Navigating using GPS and map, driving off road 4WD trucks, identifying and collecting plants in wetland habitats, assembling and weighing bags of plant material, deploying bags into wetlands, soil and water sample collection, overnight stays in ranch housing (up to 1 week at a time, limited internet access, shared rooms)

Required qualifications: Hardworking and positive attitude, driver’s license, hot weather tolerance
Preferred qualifications: plant-ID, 4WD off-road vehicle experience, previous field work in Florida
