By creating cooperative partnerships with researchers, professionals, and universities throughout Southern Africa, ResearchWild! will connect you to highly experienced people who can teach you practical, hands on skills in wildlife conservation, ecology, rehabilitation, husbandry, veterinary, human and wildlife conflict, photography, game ranching, professional hunting, and many more. Expand your education while earning resume building skills, and improving your professional marketability. Our internships pair with faculty created classes with transferable hours so you can earn class credit no matter what university you are attending. Your customized class will be created through the Department of Wildlife, Sustainability, and Ecosystem Sciences of Tarleton State University (, a member of the Texas A&M University System. ResearchWild! helps you every step of the way. We are based out of Texas, but we will remain in full contact and be on the ground in Africa during your internship. All ResearchWild!’s internship hosts take your health and safety very seriously and communicate your status directly to us. We can even share status updates with your loved ones at home, if you want. We provide transportation to and from the airport, along with supply runs. Our pre-trip orientation, provided through Tarleton State University, goes over everything you need to make your adventure abroad safe and successful. Room and board is included with most internships and you will be living on the property for which you are working. Talk about an awesome commute! Your host can help you with occasional excursions.
Must be a full time student at a college or university and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Any undergraduate levels and graduate students are accepted. Must be a dedicated and hard worker; some internships will require you to be a self starter and be able to work as part of a team or alone. An applicant must have a interest in communication, biological, animal science, wildlife studies, or any related studies.
