- Description
- Assists in carrying out wildlife management and area maintenance activities on conservation areas. Job duties will include assisting in carrying out the manipulation of grassland, woodland, forest and wetland habitats. Management activities will include control invasive species, operating tractors with various implements, operating ATV/UTV to carry out various tasks, and the use of small power equipment to install fire lines. Maintenance duties will include maintaining public use facilities, removing trash from area parking lots and maintaining area regulation and boundary signage. General maintenance and repairs to vehicles/ farm equipment can also be expected. Additional duties will involve forestry, wildfire suppression, and prescribed burning. Occasional attendance of departmental training courses and meetings may be required.
- Qualifications
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Department staff and the general public. Have good communications skills. Operate a motor vehicle and have or obtain a valid Driver License by the date of employment. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis. Accept all responsibilities of the job and assigned tasks. Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Work out-of-doors in extreme hot or cold temperatures. Pre-employment drug test is required. Open until position is filled.
