RIVER WRANGLERS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION DEADLINE TO APPLY IS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2018 ABOUT RIVER WRANGLERS River Wranglers is a non-profit 501c3 environmental educational program integrating Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) into field learning experiences for students within the Carson River watershed. River Wranglers works with local K-12 schools, local, state, and federal agencies, citizen groups, and civic service clubs to present an engaging array of watershed literacy programs such as Conserve the Carson River Work Days, Trout in the Classroom, and Carson River Festivals. POSITION SUMMARY As Executive Director you are responsible for developing and implementing our programs and grants, and for ensuring that administration and fundraising align with our mission and are in compliance with our grant parameters. Collaborating with the River Wranglers Board of Directors, you will lead our operations so that River Wranglers achieves its strategic goals. Applicant must be able to pass National Sex Offender Public Registry (NSOPR) and federal criminal background checks. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: > B.A. or B.S. degree in the biological, environmental, geologic or related sciences. > 3-5 years teaching or an equivalent combination of education and experience. > Strong leadership, communication(written and verbal), and people skills. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: > Allocate and manage grant resources for River Wranglers’ programs and activities utilizing a pragmatic budget and work schedule to meet the grant deliverable. > Schedule and coordinate logistical support as necessary for River Wranglers outdoor programs. > Work alongside, supervise, and provide guidance to River Wranglers’ AmeriCorps member to lead classroom and outdoor activities, offer community outreach at public events as well as promote our programs through social and print media. > Cultivate and maintain ongoing, communicative relationships with K-12 teachers, school districts, civic service clubs, state and county agencies > Ensure that all receipts, invoices, financial records are accurately maintained and up-to-date for each program’s expenses and report to River Wranglers’ bookkeeper and grant administrators. > Provide an Executive Director’s Report of programs and activities scheduled, expenses accrued, and timesheet each month > Maintain a working relationship with Executive Board of Directors on a regular basis and communicate with all Executive Board members SALARY This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week on a flexed schedule. No benefits are included, however there is a mileage allowance. Salary ranges from $25 to $28 per hour, as commensurate with references and experience. Deadline to apply is February 2, 2018.
