- Description
- The current recruitment is open for two (2) qualified individuals. Wildlife Survey Technicians perform a variety of wildlife surveys to collect data useful in the analysis of population status and trend; follows established protocols with regard to wildlife surveys; document environmental information including habitat and weather conditions; negotiate rough terrain with four-wheel drive vehicle or all-terrain vehicle (ATV). This position will involve camping out in remote areas in some instances and it may be necessary to utilize tire chains or change tires on heavy duty pick-up trucks. The use of a GPS is essential. Work is conducted in the early morning hours before dawn in cold temperatures. Long distance driving may also be required.
- Qualifications
- 1) Experience (at least three months) conducting wildlife surveys and identification of avian species; 2) Experience driving four-wheel drive vehicles in mud and snow; 3) Experience with camping in the outdoors in harsh conditions.
