Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities, who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programmes across 15 research sites worldwide.
We are currently recruiting schools coordinators for our research sites at various locations. We have vacancies available for between 4-8 weeks within the months of June and early August. Possible locations include: Indonesia, Mexico, Madagascar and Honduras. Information on all our sites is available on our website.
The position will involve working with teachers and 16 – 18 year old students in the field to create and ensure schedules are implemented, assist in explaining various survey techniques and the aims and objectives of Operation Wallacea at that research site, be a main point of contact for any questions and queries and provide a degree of pastoral care.
Applicants should have experience of working in the field, good communication and organisational skills and preferably a biological background. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to build upon their field experience.
In return, successful applicants receive full accommodation and food onsite, networking and skills development, flight bursaries for more experienced candidates, and of course the opportunity to contribute towards long-term conservation efforts.
