Description
Science Moab seeks a Science Programming developer VISTA to develop science programming for youth, local guiding companies, and the community. The VISTA will help to strengthen the financial stability of programming aimed towards low-income and underrepresented groups by seeking fundraising avenues and developing a membership program. Additionally, the VISTA will help to build support for Indigenous-led partner organizations. We are looking for an individual who is flexible, collaborative, able to work independently, exhibits leadership skills, and is passionate about science and science education. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The Science Programming Developer VISTA will: -Develop and maintain a membership program, including publishing a newsletter. -Work with other Science Moab staff to develop a Science Certification training for local guide companies. -Search for and write grants. -Collaborate with Science Moab’s Indiginous-led partner organizations to build support and capacity for these organizations. -Assist with Science Moab community events Benefits: -End of service award ($6,195 education award voucher or approximately $1,800 cash stipend) -Living allowance ($513.94/every other week) -Healthcare allowance/child care (if applicable) -Relocation/settling in allowance -Non-competitive eligibility status for federal jobs (i.e for 1 year after service VISTAs can be non-competitively selected for federal jobs, like those with the Park Service, BLM, or other agencies. Qualifications
Desired Skills and Experience: -Background and passion for science and/or science education -Strong management, prioritization, and organizational skills -Experience in project development -Advanced verbal and written communication skills with external and internal audiences across all populations -Experience with fundraising and grant writing -Experience in web design/development are a plus
