The Continuous Environmental Monitoring Program maintains a network of stations in the San Francisco Estuary & Delta. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join an interdisciplinary team in collecting water quality data and conducting rigorous, high-quality scientific studies in collaboration with numerous stakeholders to inform restoration, conservation, and management of the Delta. The incumbent is responsible for preparing and organizing field sampling equipment for its station network, assisting in the collection, preservation, and processing of biological, chemical, and physical field samples, preforming data entry and QA/QC, and contributing to the preparation of reports and presentations.
Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office; experience with statistics and computing software, general scientific design and analysis experience, ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others; attention to detail; some knowledge of water quality, ecology, biogeochemistry, and statistics; experience working outdoors and on boats. The desirable candidate has experience in aquatic ecology, water quality sampling and lab experience, and has experience working in remote and/or rugged conditions.
