- Normandeau Associates, Inc., one of the nation’s largest science-based consulting firms, is seeking an entry to mid-level Scientist for an immediate opening in our Stowe, PA office.
- Qualifications
- Qualified candidates will have experience in aquatic field survey techniques, freshwater mussel surveys, demonstrable experience diving at an advanced or higher level. Other highly desirable experience would include data entry, boat operations, macroinvertebrate, and fish collection methods. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as be responsible for assisting program leads with field surveys, quality control, data handling and entry, project preparation, and report writing. Travel to, and participation in a variety ecological and field operations is required as needed to assure the reliability of the work. Occasional overtime, weekend, or evening work may also be required if necessary to meet deadlines. The ability to be a team player and to maintain excellent staff and project team relationships is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of B.S. in Biology, Ecology, Wildlife, Environmental, Zoology, Fisheries, Aquatic Ecology or related discipline with 3 to 8 years of experience in environmental consulting and natural resource coordination. A broad background in federal and state natural resource regulations, freshwater ecology, fish or invertebrate species, freshwater mussels. Advanced or higher-level diver certifications and qualified mussel surveyors are a plus. Candidates should be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
